Training: Fostering and Adopting the Child Who Has Been Sexually Abused

This four-day train-the-trainer curriculum enables MAPP-certified trainers to teach a course for foster parents about working with sexually abused children.

Topics covered include: understanding child sexual abuse, handling the double trauma of abuse and placement, responding to disclosures of prior sexual abuse, managing behaviors to meet the needs of children who have been sexually abused, and much more.

In spring 2001 this training is being offered on January 16-19 in Fayetteville/Lumberton and June 5-8 in Greensboro. To register, contact Clarence Lamb (919/733-7672; [email protected]).
