Color Me by Latoya, 12 years old So many people have teased me about the color of my skin that sometimes I may say: Color me I don't mind it a bit, color me if you would like to, color me, color me, color me. It seems every time I go somewhere I don't seem to fit in, but there's a voice inside of me that says I don't always have to fit in, but I still say: Color me I don't mind it a bit, color me if you would like to, color me, color me, color me. That's what I used to say, but I have listened to that voice inside of me and now I'm going to stay just the way I am and never going to change. Latoya received $25 for having her poem published in Fostering Perspectives.
