Encourage Foster Teens
to Join SAY SO!

SAY SO is Strong Able Youth Speaking Out, a state-
wide association made up of youth who are or have
been in out-of-home care. This includes all types of
substitute care: foster care, group homes, and mental
health placements. It has been in existence for almost a year.

SAY SOs mission is to work to improve the substitute care system by educating the community, speaking out about needed changes, and providing support to youth who are or have been in substitute care.

SAY SO means businessjust see the excerpt from our letter to Governor Hunt below. After he got the letter, Governor Hunts office contacted us. We will meet with him sometime this year. You can be a member of SAY SO if you are under the age of 24, are currently or have been in any kind of out-of-home care, including foster or adoptive care.

If you want to join SAY SO, you can do so through e-mail ([email protected]). SAY SO also has a web site <http://www.ncchild.org/sayso.htm>.
