About Fostering Perspectives

Fostering Perspectives is sponsored by the North Carolina Division of Social Services, the North Carolina Foster and Adoptive Parent Association, SAYSO (Strong Able Youth Speaking Out), and the Family and Children's Resource Program, part of the Jordan Institute for Families at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work. These organizations contribute to the development and production of each issue in an effort to improve the quality of foster care in North Carolina.

Mission
Fostering Perspectives exists to promote the professional development of North Carolina's child welfare workers and foster parents and to provide a forum where the people involved in the child welfare system can exchange ideas about foster care in North Carolina.

A printed copy of Fostering Perspectives is sent directly to all of North Carolina's county departments of social services and to all foster parents and group homes licensed through the NC Division of Social Services.
